I strike a successful work/life balance by applying my creative problem-solving to my volunteer work at the theatre.
Vision, budget, organization, collaboration, delegation, meeting deadlines, adaptation, execution: I apply my strengths as a planner to my theatre volunteering work.
My passion is being on stage: singing, dancing, and acting. But I have lent my creative talents to many areas of the theatre, most prominently as a costumer. I have also chaired the Strategic Planning Committee (fancy that), Play Reading Committee, and served as President of the Village Players Board of Directors in 2016/17. I have produced, choreographed, assistant directed shows, and when time permits, I look forward to directing my first show.
My sister teaches high school choir at my alma mater in Wisconsin. I assist her with graphic design and provide costume design and costumes for her musicals and Renaissance-era madrigal singing group.
Beyond my work at the theatre, I spend my spare time gardening and working on my 1924 Craftsman bungalow. When time off and finances permit, I’m always eager to explore new cities.
