After finishing grad school in 2008, I began working as a planner at LSL Planning in Royal Oak. The past nine years have included three promotions, dozens of clients and projects, leadership in the firm as marketing and graphics specialist, serving as project manager on plans ranging from small towns to capital cities, and a variety of experience in preparation of grant applications, transit plans, downtown form-based codes, public participation strategies, site design concepts, and most recently, leading the technical assistance team for the Michigan Economic Development Corporation Redevelopment Ready Communities program.
Being a consultant has been a great fit for me: I enjoy the ability to work on a variety of projects in a variety of communities and work towards implementing best practices in new and differing contexts. I am constantly challenged by a new problem to solve and to work at creating customized solutions to help achieve a successful outcome.
I am ready for the next chapter in my career, to further develop my skills as an urban designer and project manager, and work towards plan implementation through form-based codes, redevelopment projects, and economic development.
